Without question one of the best meals I've had in a long time! The restaurant is so cute and the employees were extremely friendly. Lots of options but not so much that it feels like they don't care. Quality and portions were perfect. It's pricy but well worth it. We sat outside and the atmosphere was lovely. Sadly we were traveling but I will absolutely be back if I am ever in Emeryville again. I can't recommend it enough.
The food has always been the best part of Townhouse for me! Everything is delicious and I've had the seasonal menu items as well! Fantastic flavors, fresh herbs and spices, create a wonderful trip for the pallet! A foodie pick!!
My roommate and I came here on a random Thursday night and we were seated soon after we arrived. This restaurant has its own small parking lot and there are some street parking options as well. We sat outdoors in the patio area which had overhead covering and heat lamps. I loved the patio area because it was spacious and had cute string lights. To start, my roommate and I shared the lamb chops and some roasted Brussels sprouts. The lamb chops were moist and flavorful. The Brussels sprouts were a little one dimensional and greasy. For entree I ordered the chicken rigatoni pasta with sun dried tomatoes. The pasta was perfectly cooked and the flavor of the sun dried tomatoes really came through which I liked. I also thought that the portion size was very generous. The service was inconsistent. Our first server was amazing and very attentive. However, our second server was very slow. It took ~20min to get our check after we asked for it and our waters were never refilled. Overall, this place was good but the service was a bit lack luster. I would come back to try some of their other entrees and I enjoyed the back patio area.
Overall, I enjoyed my meal. They forgot the focaccia we ordered but service overall was smooth and timely. People were very nice and patio felt lovely
We recently dined at Townhouse and were thoroughly impressed. The host was very welcoming and warm. Such a sweet woman! The restaurant has a cute, cozy vibe that immediately made us feel welcome. We started with happy hour margaritas, which were fresh and perfectly balanced, not overly sweet. Our meal began with the ahi appetizer, which was delicious, although a few more wonton chips would have been appreciated. We also tried the ribs, and they were fantastic, falling right off the bone and bursting with flavor. The highlight was definitely the pizza, which was so flavorful. Overall, our experience was wonderful, and we would definitely come back again!
Hubby and I decided to have a date night tonight and Townhouse was the best spot for an intimate & quiet dinner. We sat near the bar and Alejandro, who was wonderful, took care of us all evening. I ordered a lavender gimlet to start, and for appetizers, we got the charcuterie board and the townhouse salad. Both were amazing beginnings to our meal! For entrees we ordered the chicken piccata and tri-tip ribeye, both cooked perfectly and so tender. Had to round out the dinner with dessert as well, and the chocolate tarte was a perfect level of sweetness.
Townhouse is tucked away in an unassuming neighborhood on a residential street, but its food surely stands out. This restaurant is at once fancy and casual. It has white table cloths and a higher-end menu, but it's also rustic and cozy, and feels more like a regular haunt and not some stuffy fine dining establishment. The service is much the same; top notch, but not pretentious. It's difficult to capture in words just how fun Townhouse is, so it's probably best to go check it out, as my friends and I did recently on a weeknight. After reading some rave reviews about their pork chop, I decided to order that. (On a previous visit, I had ordered the cioppino and bolognese and both were very good.) It was the highlight of the evening. Thick, juicy, and tender ... it might have been the best pork chop I've ever had. I would go back just for the pork chop. I had a bite of the ribeye ordered by one of my dining companions, and it, too, was quite delicious - tender and juicy (cooked medium rare). But, again, we all agreed the pork chop was the star. We treated ourselves to a few desserts, indulging in the crème brûlée, carrot cake, and bread pudding. The bread pudding (which tasted like a bread pudding made of cinnamon rolls) was the winner in the dessert round, followed by the crème brûlée. The carrot cake, which came from another establishment, was just OK. There's indoor and outdoor seating, and service is pretty prompt before the 7 p.m. rush, at which point things can slow down a bit. We got there for a 6:30 p.m. reservation and it was a perfect. The waitstaff was attentive and friendly. Townhouse might not be an everyday restaurant (unless you've got deep pockets!), but it's definitely a contender for special occasions, a date night, or as a treat for yourself.
